Foyles out of Blackwell's race

<p>Foyles has pulled out of the running to acquire any part of Blackwell's retail business, which may be sold in the next few months. The news came as other interested parties assessed their final bids this week.</p><p>Rival academic bookseller John Smith&amp;Son, supported by sister company Coutts, remains the most likely trade suitor for the professional and campus stores.</p><p>Terry Field, m.d. of John Smith, confirmed the company was "still interested" in parts of the chain.</p><p>But sources suggested that John Smith's would face a struggle to improve the fortunes of Blackwell's amid ...
