Fourth Estate UK safe, as US imprint faces axe

<p>HarperCollins is believed to be ending its attempts to build literary imprint Fourth Estate as a US brand. Reports in the US have claimed that HC is planning the closure of its standalone US imprint Fourth Estate, and folding its titles into other imprints.</p><p>HC's global chief executive Jane Friedman has recently launched the "Publishing+" initiative, an internal growth strategy aimed at bringing the company together and exploiting the HC brand.
