Four more libraries set for closure

<p>Four more public libraries are set for closure, bringing the current total of branches under threat to 97. Powys County Council in Wales has announced plans to shut three libraries at Llanfair Caereinion, Llanwrtyd Wells and Talgarth. The move is an attempt to save funding, and redirect money into the local children's mobile library service instead.

"The decision to close the libraries was very difficult, but the service is experiencing severe financial pressures and we have to operate within set budgets," a council spokesman said.
