Orion imprint Weidenfeld & Nicolson has signed four more books from The Hairy Bikers, including their joint memoir.
Amanda Harris, deputy publisher of non-fiction, acquired world rights to a diet book, two cookbooks and the memoir from Rowan Lawton at Furniss Lawton.
The first of the four books, The Hairy Dieters: Good Eating, will be published on 9th October this year and will be the third dieting book from Si King and Dave Myers.
The book will include a recipe for Creamy Chicken and Tarragon Pots with Rosemary Potato Wedges by Amy Hodgkinson, a fan of The Hairy Bikers who entered a competition on their website to have a recipe included in The Hairy Dieters: Good Eating.
Harris said: “The Hairy Bikers’ publishing programme goes from strength to strength.
“We have now reached over 2m sales through BookScan and this exciting four-book deal, including two cookbooks, a diet book and their dual autobiography, secures the Hairy Bikers’ future at Orion.
“Si and Dave are wonderful authors to work with; their friendship, warmth and humour make the publishing process very easy indeed.
“They share a genuine love and passion for great food and a desire to get the nation cooking.”
The Hairy Bikers have published nine recipe books, with total sales of 2,076,937 through Nielsen BookScan. The most recent was The Hairy Bikers’ Asian Adventure, which has sold 50,792 copies through Nielsen BookScan.
