Folio partners with Harrods

The Folio Society has partnered with Harrods, the first time it has sold books beyond its own website, shop, and partner shops at the British Library and British Museum.

From this week, the Harrods Bookshop, which is run by W H Smith, will begin stocking a range of Folio Society titles across 200 sq ft of retail space. However the publisher said Harrods would only be selling "books selected from [its] wide range of out-of-copyright titles due to contractual obligations."

A selection of the Society's list of children's books will also be on sale in Harrods' Children's Reading room, a new section established as part of the Knightsbridge store's Toy Kingdom.

Simon Toombs, head of business development at The Folio Society said: "Folio obviously feels this is a great opportunity to align with a quintessentially British brand and to showcase a selection of our beautiful editions to a wider audience. Many of the editions on sale at Harrods make the ideal Christmas gift, so the timing of this partnership couldn’t be more perfect."
