<p>Booksellers, unlike other retailers on the supposedly beleaguered high street, seem to gain a boost from poor weather conditions, and this year's prolonged winter has coincided with excellent early spring sales.</p><p>Revenue through BookScan's Total Consumer Market for the seven days to 11th March was 9.8% up on the corresponding week in 2005--the biggest increase of the year to date and, Christmas and Harry Potter excepted, the biggest gain since last May.
