Finnish literature network Black Hole is hosting an event on how to set up a literary agency.
The free virtual event is open to all book industry professionals and will take place on 7th June 2022, starting at 1pm. It follows a spring event focused on how books become movies.
Lena Stjernström, c.e.o. of the Grand Agency in Sweden, will lead the event, sharing her experiences of starting a literary agency, while Kati Uusi-Rauva, a soon-to-be project manager in The Uniarts Helsinki, will talk about how to build a sustainable business model.
Anne Ryynänen from BusinessOulu will outline the services her company offers for those planning and starting a business in the creative industries.
One-to-one meetings will also be possible for those looking to network with one another. The Brella platform, which will host the event, has ‘match-making’ capacities according to the organisers, which will encourage attendees to book meetings with each other even before the event begins.
The Black Hole Summer event is a part of the Oulu Writers Association’s ongoing project to build a network for publishing professionals aiming to further northern literary exports.
