Final Hunger Games adaptation to be two films

The final instalment of Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games trilogy, Mockingjay, is to be split into two films.

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" will be released in November 2014, with Part 2 to follow a year later.

According to the BBC, the first Hunger Games film, released in March, has taken $678 million (£436m) worldwide.

The second instalment, "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire", will hit cinemas in November 2013. Filming is due to start in September, with Philip Seymour Hoffman joinining the cast, which sees Jennifer Lawrence playing heroine Katniss Everdeen.

Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games trilogy, published by Scholastic, are the bestselling books for children/young adults in the UK this year.
