Film rights for Evie Wyld's Costa Novel Award-nominated novel All the Birds, Singing have been bought by Capa Pictures and Asylum Giant Ltd.
The deal was handled directly with the producers and Wyld's agent, Laetitia Rutherford at Watson, Little.
Carola Ash, producer and c.e.o at Capa Pictures, is a former head of production for Warner Brothers International Television, and Asylum Giant c.e.o Mark Lo has executive credits on films such as The Railway Man, starring Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman.
Lo said: "With such rich characters, vivid locations and its unique time structure, we can’t wait to adapt a book that is already so full of cinematic vision.”
All the Birds, Singing (Cape) is Wyld's second novel, and was published in hardback in June 2013. It is set on an unnamed British island, where Jake Whyte finds the local sheep being mysteriously picked off in the night.
