Film rights to Chris Kuzneski’s The Hunters (Headline) have been optioned by a new UK-based production venture.
Piers Tempest and Jo Bamford have optioned the rights, with Mark Huffam and Chris Clark joining the producing team.
Tempest said: “The Hunters is such a great story with standout action and brilliant characters.
“We love this book and are excited to embark on the journey with Chris to deliver a high-octane action thriller.”
Kuzneski said: “I couldn’t be happier. I’ve always wanted to see my books on the big screen, but this is the first time that I was comfortable with the fit.
“From my initial conversation with Piers, it was clear that Piers and Jo’s ideas were in sync with mine. Their vision of the film was a perfect match to my vision for the series.”
The Hunters is the first book in a series of the same name. It follows ex-soldier Jack Cobb and his treasure hunting team as they attempt to find a Romanian train filled with riches that disappeared in Russia during the First World War.
The second book in the series, The Forbidden Tomb, will be released by Headline on April 24th.
Kuzneski was previously published by Penguin, and moved to Headline in 2011.
