Copies of Helen Fielding's new Bridget Jones novel, Mad About the Boy (Jonathan Cape), have been printed with sections of David Jason's autobiography My Life (Century) inside.
Vintage publicity manager Sophie Mitchell said the book's printers had suffered "a Bridget moment", which had affected some early copies.
The new Fielding title, published by Jonathan Cape, and the Jason memoir, published by Century, were both released today (10th October), dubbed Super Thursday due to the number of high profile books being released.
Mitchell said: "The printers have had a Bridget moment. A printing error has been detected in some of the very early copies of Bridget Jones: Mad about the Boy. Some copies printed on one day have given readers an accidental preview of David Jason's autobiography.
"We are taking steps to remove these copies from sale and will be replacing misprinted stock as soon as possible."
