Frankfurt Book Fair has hired Amy Webster as its new associate partner of Rights and Licenses.
Her role will be to support the partnership between the book fair and IPR License after FBF announced it had made a significant investment in the global rights and licensing trading platform in May this year.
Webster joins the book fair from Edinburgh TV Festival, where she was head of new business. Previously, Webster coordinated the market focus programme at London Book Fair for six years.
She said: “Having worked with both publishers and rights-holders over the years, I know that rights revenue has never been more important to the success of a publisher and therefore the industry as a whole. As book fairs continue to thrive and rights professionals continue to travel, this initiative will leverage the strengths of the content available and the international reach of the Frankfurt Book Fair.”
Thomas Minkus, vice president of emerging media and English language world at FBF, said: “We are delighted that Amy will be working with us on this important project. Rights and licences are of course a key area of the Book Fair’s business, and we think Amy is very well-placed to help us expand our reach even further.”
This year FBF will take place between 14th-18th October.
