After 20 years heading up the PR department for Oxford University Press's Academic division, Kate Farquhar-Thomson is moving to Princeton University Press (PUP) as head of publicity, Europe.
She will take up her new role on 4th March.
Farquhar-Thomson joined OUP in 1999 when its UK publicity was a team of just one, and from those small beginnings built a team looking after the needs of the trade publishing, dictionaries, online product, and journals list, working with authors including David Reich, Peter Atkins, Jancis Robinson, Gyles Brandreth and David Willetts.
Caroline Priday, global publicity director at PUP, said: "I am delighted to announce the appointment of Kate Farquhar-Thomson as head of publicity, Europe. She will be taking over publicity for trade and academic trade titles in Economics, Politics and History as well as managing the team, we are thrilled to have her join us."
Farquhar-Thomson said: "I can’t believe how lucky I am to have this amazing opportunity to bring my experience and love of academic publishing to a new team and a new stellar list of titles and authors. I am literally champing at the bit and very excited to get started. 2019 is a new year and has brought with it very exciting new opportunities for me."
