Faber's Ellis to join Literary Platform

Joanna Ellis, former marketing director at Faber, is to join The Literary Platform as associate director.

Ellis, who has worked at Faber since 2004, joins in March. Communications consultant Laura Creyke, who has previously worked at Usborne and Colman Getty with authors including Madonna, Jacqueline Wilson and Charlie Higson, joins as head of communications.

Sophie Rochester, founder of The Literary Platform, said: “For nearly two years now The Literary Platform has been consulting on a range of digital literature-related projects as well as running the website. We’re now in a position to expand The Literary Platform team in order to work with a much wider group of international clients.

"We’re extremely lucky to have the expertise of these two brilliant minds on our team and we’re very excited to get stuck into our 2012 projects.”

Ellis took on the role of marketing director in Faber in 2007, working on initiatives including Faber Finds, the Faber Academy and Faber Digital’s range of apps. She said: "I am thrilled to be joining The Literary Platform at such an exciting stage in its development. I cannot wait to start working with such a wonderful, diverse list of clients, and, of course, with Sophie whose creativity and energy proved irresistible.

The Literary Platform’s plans for 2012 include the Douglas Adams animation competition, digital consultancy for Pan Macmillan, with The Bookseller Group's FutureBook and for the National Literacy Trust.
