Faber has signed a trio of titles around the fair, including a biography of guitarist Eddie Van Halen.
Paul Brannigan, author of biographies of Dave Grohl and Metallica, will write Eruption, scheduled for release in 2015. Van Halen's eponymous band were one of the biggest US acts of the 1980s.
Senior editor Angus Cargill signed UK and Commonwealth rights from Matthew Hamilton at Aitken Alexander. De Capo will publish in the US.
The publisher also signed UK and Commonwealth rights in debut thriller White Crocodile by KT Medina. Katherine Armstrong at Faber signed the deal with Will Francis at Janklow & Nesbit. Deals have been done in the US and Germany. The book follows Tess, whose divorced husband Luke telephones her with terrible stories of being followed by a pale figure. Eventually, she is drawn to Cambodia to investigate his strange death. Faber will publish in September 2014.
Faber also began a new collaboration with film magazine Little White Lies, with a first book, What I Love About Movies, being released in autumn 2014. The book collects interviews with directors such as Quentin Tarantino and Francis Ford Coppola and actors including Ryan Gosling and Helen Mirren, put together by the magazine team. Ed Wilson of Johnson & Alcock brokered the deal with Little White Lies and Walter Donohue at Faber.
