Faber signs more crime from Carol

Katherine Armstrong, newly-appointed associate crime editor at Faber, has signed UK and Commonwealth rights excluding EU and Canada in two more more novels from James Carol.

The deal was done with Camilla Wray at Darley Anderson for two novels in Carol's Jefferson Winter series, as well as two novellas. The deal follows the publication of Carol's Broken Dolls and the first in a digital series, Presumed Guilty.

The books all centre around Winter, the son of America's most notorious serial killer, who has spent his career trying to distance himself from his father's legacy, working first for the FBI then as a consultant.

The new novels will focus on Winter's globe-travelling work, while the novellas will look back at his early days with the FBI.

Hush Little Baby, the first novella from the deal, will be published this winter, while novel Chasing Shadows will be published in spring 2015. Another novella and novel entitled 15 Minutes will follow in summer 2015.

Armstrong said: "'I am very excited to be able to continue our relationship with James and build on the success that we have had so far with the Jefferson Winter series. It is always fantastic to work with a dedicated author who understands his readership and can deliver a thrilling read, and the reader feedback about Jefferson Winter has been amazing."
