Faber has signed a debut thriller by screenwriter Dwayne Alexander Smith.
Angus Cargill bought UK and Commonwealth rights in Forty Acres from Caspian Dennis at Abner Stein on behalf of Molly Friedrich.
The book follows a young black attorney, who is taken under the wing of a group of America's most powerful and esteemed black men. On a weekend retreat with them, he discovers a disturbing truth which challenges his deepest convictions.
Cargill said this book is: "a can-he-survive legal thriller as exciting as early Grisham, with a great conceit at its heart which the author pulls of with huge skill and conviction. This will be a book to get people talking."
Faber will publish in hardback and e-book this July.
