Faber is releasing a collection of readings by Seamus Heaney to accompany the new collection of poems published following the Nobel laureate's death last year.
New Selected Poems will be released as a CD priced at £14.99 and as an audio digital download. The collection is based on a recording session Heaney undertook in 2009. It follows the hardback publication of Seamus Heaney: New Selected Poems 1988-2013, and a new hardback edition of New Selected Poems 1966-1987.
Matthew Hollis, poetry editor at Faber said: "Seamus Heaney was not only a master of page and print but one of the art form’s greatest articulators. To those in attendance, his performances were legendary: precise, powerful, unmistakable, heartening. We are fortunate that, in 2009, he chose to make a comprehensive recording of his poems that forms the basis for this CD and download. These recordings are full of life and light, and remind us that Seamus Heaney was one of the finest voices that poetry has known."
Heaney, who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1995, died in September last year at the age of 74.
