Faber releases International Booker Prize-winning novel in paperback early

Faber is releasing the new paperback edition of Marieke Lucas Rijneveld's 2020 International Booker Prize-winning novel The Discomfort of Evening today (23rd September), five months earlier than scheduled. 

First published in the UK on 5th March 2020, the novel has sold 12,000 copies in trade paperback and a further 12,000 e-books, as well as 5,000 copies internationally, according to the publisher's statistics. Physical sales increased by 700% after the winners’ announcement on 26th August, and the paperback release date was brought forward from February 2021.
