Emmie Francis has been promoted to the role of commissioning editor at Faber, with immediate effect.
Francis will focus on the acquisition of international literature in translation and the development of emerging UK and Irish writers, and report to publisher Alex Bowler. She will continue to edit her existing list of authors, including Rebecca Watson, Khaled Khalifa and Teju Cole.
Bowler said: "This new role is a natural progression for a richly gifted editor, and an exciting step for the list as we further our commitment to emerging talent in all languages."
Francis added: "I'm thrilled to continue my editorial remit at Faber as well as establish a new one. Diverse, international and paradigm-shifting stories need to be told, but they also need to be heard; I am immensely motivated to make sure both of those things happen."
