Faber Factory and Macmillan Distribution (MDL) have announced a strategic partnership, which will see the Factory extend its digital services to MDL clients.
Currently Faber Factory Plus clients, the physical sales arm of Factory, use MDL for distribution of their physical books. The new arrangement will mean that physical and e-book sales and inventory data will be brought together.
Matthew Hogg, commercial director of MDL said: "MDL is delighted to bring this partnership with Faber Factory to its distributed clients. As well as the integration of data with its systems, MDL is keen to offer publishers a service which complements its own inclusive approach to third party services. Faber's reputation in this area is unparalleled and MDL is confident that its clients will benefit from both guidance and knowledge, in addition to the system provisions from the Factory team."
Simon Blacklock, director of Faber Factory, said he hoped the new partnership would lead to further opportunities. He said: "We are pleased to be extending our partnership with MDL and thereby offering a more aligned service to the publishers we work with and we see this as the foundation of other services we can offer to them."
MDL provides services to more than 40 publishers, including the Macmillan Group, with customers ranging from trade and specialist bookshops to schools and internet retailers. There warehouse facilities are based in Swansea.
Faber Factory Powered by Constellation is a digital service which works with 105 publishers in the UK, Ireland, Australia and South Africa.
