Faber has signed two books from debut novelist Kate Hamer, a former Curtis Brown Creative student.
Faber's Sarah Savitt bought UK and Commonwealth rights at auction in The Girl in the Red Coat, plus a further novel, from Alice Lutyens at Curtis Brown.
German rights have also been pre-empted by Arche in a six-figure deal, while Dutch rights have gone to Uitgeveril de Boekerij.
The Girl in the Red Coat follows eight-year-old Carmel, who is abducted by an elderly man at a festival, leaving her mother Beth searching desperately for her. Savitt said: "Carmel has such a memorable voice and her story surprised me at every turn. This will be a real standout on our 2015 fiction list and Kate Hamer is a distinctive new voice in British fiction."
Hamer grew up in Pembrokeshire, and did a creative writing MA at Aberystwyth University before the Curtis Brown Creative novel-writing course. She has previously won the Rhys Davies short story award, as well as being awarded a Literature Wales bursary.
