Engineering title to Bloomsbury

Bloomsbury has acquired a first book by engineer Roma Agrawal following an auction.

Agrawal is a prize-winning engineer who began working on the Shard, western Europe's tallest building, aged just 23.

Commissioning editor Natalie Bellos signed world rights to Building Storeys from Patrick Walsh at Conville & Walsh.

The book, sold on a 25,000-word proposal, will be a popular science title aimed at exciting the general public about engineering and the built environment, looking at the history of the subject and the way we have tackled projects such as bridges and tall buildings.
