Element legal battle looms

A legal battle over the future of the Element Books list looked likely this week after negotiations between the receiver, Arthur Andersen, and Element's former packaging partner broke down,</p><p>
The receiver's agreement with HarperCollins to buy 250 titles from the Element backlist, believed to be worth &pound;3m, has been put on hold. It is also rumoured that a former reprographics partner of Element is refusing to return a large amount of film material to the receiver.</p><p>
