Egmont Publishing is restructuring the sales, marketing and PR teams of its books division and promoting Katy Cattell to the new position of PR and communications director.
In her new role Cattell, who is currently PR director, will lead the consumer marketing, audience development and digital strategy for Egmont's books division, in addition to her responsibilities for PR and corporate communications for Egmont’s books and magazines.
"I’m thrilled to be leading the new PR and communications team who have a wealth of skills and experience,” she said. “The new structure will enable us to further maximize activity which spans the remit of both marketing and PR, in particular SEO, social media, experiential and blogger relations and to continue to deliver first class campaigns for our authors, illustrators, agents and licensors.”
Cattell will continue to report into Ingrid Gilmore, director of sales, marketing and PR, who will now directly manage trade marketing strategy alongside the UK and export sales team.
Gilmore has also recruited a trade marketing co-ordinator, Emily Flinn, who will join the company on 28th September, and is hiring a junior account manager and a content producer.
Egmont began reorganising its marketing team last year, a process which resulted in the redundancy of Mike Richards, who left his post of marketing director in August.
However, the company has now said no more redundancies are planned.
