Egmont’s magazine division has seen a return to growth in circulation, reporting a 5.7% year-on-year increase during the July-December 2013 period.
According to the latest Audit Bureau of Circulation figures, the Toxic title for tween boys saw 12.8% year-on-year growth, while circulation of Go Girl was up 21.9% year-on-year.
The results show a return to growth for Egmont Magazines, which reported flat circulation last year for the January-June 2013 period.
“We are very proud of our expertise in both the pre-teen boys and girls markets, demonstrated by a fifth consecutive period of growth for Toxic and anincrease of 21.9% year-on-year for GoGirl,” said m.d. of Egmont Magazines Gillian Laskier. “As a specialist children’s publisher we have an in-depth understanding of our market and we continue to work closely with various parties who value a quality offering for children.”
Two relaunched titles, Thomas & Friends and Hello Kitty Magazine, saw year-on-year increases of 42.3% and 19.4% respectively. Circulation of the Disney portfolio was up 11.2%, bostered by the launch of Disney Stars.
Circulation of Monster High was up 11.2% year-on-year. Egmont has also launched a Monster High app, which has been downloaded more than 40,000 times.
