Mark Edwards and Louise Voss have signed another deal with Amazon’s Thomas & Mercer imprint.
Emilie Marneur, senior acquisitions editor for Amazon Publishing, signed world rights to a new crime novel by the co-writing pair and a solo thriller by Mark Edwards through agent Sam Copeland of Rogers, Coleridge and White.
The Blissfully Dead, by Voss and Edwards, is the second in the DI Patrick Lennon series in which a serial killer targets fans of a boy band. It will be published this autumn.
Follow You Home is Edwards' fourth solo novel, a psychological thriller about a dream holiday that turns into a nightmare - set for publication this June.
Edwards' solo novels The Magpies and Because She Loves Me both topped the Kindle chart in the UK and reached the top 20 in the US, Canada and Australia. Between them, these novels have sold over 400,000 copies, the authors said.
“I am thrilled with the reception of my solo novels and publishing From the Cradle with Thomas & Mercer revitalized our career as co-writers," Edwards said. "It's particularly exciting to see our books being stocked by bookshops, including Wal-Mart in the US and WH Smith travel in the UK,” he added.
The pair first achieved success together self-publishing on Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing platform, with Catch Your Death, a Kindle bestseller. The duo were then snapped up by HarperCollins, with the company buying four titles in 2011 in a six-figure pre-empt deal. Edwards continued to self-publish with KDP, with his book The Magpies selling over 170,000 copies in 2013, leading to his solo deal with Thomas & Mercer.
