Ebury signs The Middle Place

<p>Ebury Press has acquired <em>New York Times</em> bestseller and YouTube phenomenon <em>The Middle Place</em> by Kelly Corrigan. </p><p>Publishing director Andrew Goodfellow acquired UK &amp; Commonwealth rights, excluding Canada, from Shaheeda Sabir at Curtis Brown, on behalf of Andrea Barvzi at ICM.<br /><br /><em>The Middle Place</em> is a memoir about Corrigan&#39;s discovery that she had cancer and her reaction - to send an email to 100 people inviting them to a party one year later to celebrate her recovery. </p><p>Her father was then diagnosed with late-stage cancer, leaving Corrigan to look after him and her own children. Ebury described the book as &quot;warm, funny and a touch bittersweet&quot;.<br /><br />The title will be published on 21st January 2010, as a paperback original priced at &pound;7.99.<br /><br />Corrigan&#39;s reading of a self-penned essay, entitled <em>Transcending: Words on Women and Strength</em> has been watched by more than 4.5m YouTube viewers worldwide.</p>
