Ebury Press has bought an “epic love story with a twist” by Roxie Cooper.
The Day We Met is about Stephanie and James who meet one fateful weekend in 2006, sparking a tumultuous relationship that spans a decade.
Katie Seaman, editor for Ebury Press, acquired UK Commonwealth (excluding Canada) rights from Sarah Manning at The Bent Agency. Rights have already sold at auction in Germany (to Piper) and Russia (Eksmo).
Seaman said: “TV series like 'The Affair' have got everyone talking because relationships aren’t black and white. More and more people are finding themselves in second or third relationships and the story of how they came to those are incredibly interesting and compelling. I’m thrilled to be publishing The Day We Met – it’s a love story that I think really reflects modern society but above all it’s beautiful, bold storytelling at its best. Stephanie and Jamie are characters that will stay with every reader.”
Ebury will publish in e-book in February 2019 and paperback in March.
