Kobo has appointed former Apple sales director Jean-Marc Dupuis to oversee its European expansion, which is a “top priority” for the company.
Kobo said Dupuis was “instrumental” in Apple doubling its revenue in Europe and has now hired him as its new managing director for EMEA. He will be based in Paris.
Michael Serbinis, c.e.o, of Kobo, said: “Jean-Marc is an ideal addition to our leadership team. His knowledge of the digital space, coupled with his experience running billion dollar businesses at companies like Apple, make him an integral part of the Kobo team. Together we’ll push forward the company’s 2013 objectives, with European expansion being a top priority.”
Dupuis said: “Kobo is a fast-growing force in the digital sector in a time when digital media consumption and the appetite for e-reading continue to grow. I look forward to bringing my experience and knowledge to the Kobo team to further grow the brand.”
