"Downton Abbey" star Joanne Froggatt has been announced as the narrator for Lisa Jewell's latest thriller, The Night She Disappeared (Cornerstone).
The audiobook publication will be supported with a full social media marketing campaign, an influencer marketing campaign, and an audiobook-specific blog tour, which will kick-off from publication on 22nd July. The Night She Disappeared explores one family's dark secret.
Froggatt, who played housemaid Anna Bates in "Downton Abbey", is a Golden Globe and three-time Emmy nominee. This autumn, she will feature as the title character in thriller "Angela Black" for ITV.
Froggatt said: “I absolutely love working on audiobooks, especially when the story is as vivid and compelling as Lisa’s work. I was completely gripped as a reader, and relished the opportunity to get into the studio and explore the narrative and these amazing characters. The Night She Disappeared is a gripping page-turner that had me hooked from beginning to end. I hope people enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed reading it.”
Jewell added: “One thing that came out of lockdown last year was the sudden, but entirely natural marriage between high-profile actors and audiobooks. It's been thrilling to be involved with 'casting' decisions for my last two books and I could not have been more excited to hear that Joanne Froggatt would be taking on the narration for The Night She Disappeared. Her range and tone are exquisite as she moves seamlessly between my three strong, but very different female leads. Listeners are in for a treat.”
