Dortmund Yellow Wall antidote to W&N

Paul Murphy, editorial director at Weidenfeld & Nicolson non-fiction, has acquired world rights to Building the Yellow Wall by Ulrich “Uli” Hesse, an account of Borussia Dortmund’s rise to become one of the world’s most prominent football clubs.

Murphy, who bought rights from Kevin Pocklington at Jenny brown Associates, said: “With football increasingly about money, Dortmund serves as a refreshing antidote: a club owned by and run for the fans, that shows success on the pitch doesn’t need to be sacrificed as a result [of fan ownership].”
