Five is producing a new sex advice programme based on Dorling Kindersley title Sex: How to Do Everything by New York sex therapists Emma Taylor and Lorelei Sharkey.
Broadcast from 5th June at 11pm, the 10-part series is billed as an “instructional, upmarket series that will bring a fresh approach to sex advice” and will be presented by Taylor and Sharkey, who are popularly known as Em and Lo. It will be a studio-based series, also featuring additional pre-recorded footage.
Each hour-long programme will explore a different theme, such as “seduction”, “orgasm” and “fantasy sex”, with Em and Lo taking to the streets of London and New York to explore different attitudes to sexual practices in both cities, and to give advice on how to make the most of your sex life.
The series is adapted from the DK, which is published this week and features photography by Rankin.
“What’s really exciting about this project is that before the publication of the book, it created so much excitement that [Five] commissioned the show immediately,” said DK lifestyle category publisher Stephanie Jackson. “We are thrilled about the amazing exposure that this will give us. While this is fabulous news for the UK we think it will be really great in our efforts to help make Em and Lo a global media brand.”
Em and Lo have written seven books, including Position of the Day: Sex Every Day in Every Way and The Big Bang: Nerve’s Guide to the New Sexual Universe. They have been writing sex and advice columns together for nine years.
“Sex: How To Do Everything” is made by production company TalkbackThames.
