Toby Hopkins has been appointed director of content licensing at DK as the publishing house develops plans to grow B2B sales in the digital space.
Hopkins has worked in licensing content to brands, publishers and educational providers, including Pearson and communications firm WPP. He joins DK from Shutterstock, where he licensed visual content to major media companies. In his new role, Hopkins will report to Svenja Rufus, group director of online strategy and analytics.
Paul Kelly, c.f.o., strategy director and president of DK US, said: “Toby will be instrumental in building relationships with new content licensing partners. He has been working with DK in a consultancy capacity during the last year and has helped us to better position ourselves as a partner of choice for those looking for high-quality educational content. In particular, the partnerships he has established with educational tech platforms are an interesting model we are keen to build upon.”
Hopkins added: “DK's publishing is so engaging and visual they've always been one of my favourite customers. I'm excited to be joining to help give this amazing content life beyond the printed page, to enable DK's partners to tell their stories digitally, whatever their media, and whatever their business, from children's to travel, from education to lifestyle.”
