HarperFiction has signed four books from saga author Dilly Court, in a six-figure deal which sees her moving from Cornerstone after 27 books.
The deal, signed with agent Teresa Chris for UK and Commonwealth rights, will see the first new book published in spring 2016, with two books published each year.
Court's sagas are set in London at the beginning of the 20th century.
Kate Elton, fiction and non-fiction executive publisher said: "It’s 10 years ago this month that I acquired Dilly Court’s first novel, Mermaids Singing. It was a big auction, which was then incredibly unusual for a saga author, but Dilly’s extraordinary success over the last 10 years has proven just how special a writer she is. It’s a huge privilege to now be welcoming her to HarperFiction, and I couldn’t be more delighted to be working with her again."
Court said: "I'd like to thank Random House for all the help and support they gave me as a newly published author, but after 27 books I feel it's time to move on, and I'm very much looking forward to working with the team at HarperCollins.”
