Multilingual bloggers and tweeters will provide an international commentary for the London Book Fair's Publishing for Digital Minds conference next year.
LBF and the Publishers Association is recruiting "social media experts" from around the world to tweet and blog events at the conference for an international audience, in languages such as Mandarin, Spanish, Portuguese and German. Bloggers have been selected to target the markets most widely represented in the conference's international audience, such as China and Latin America.
The blogging will cover channels such as China's Weibo social network, and German business networking site XING.
Bloggers who speak Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Italian , Hindi and Malay are also encouraged to apply to cover the conference, with successful applicants receiving free admission. Applicants should apply to chloe.modaberi@reedexpo.co.uk
Orna O'Brien, conference manager at LBF, said: "Increasingly the social media backchannel has become the voice of a successful conference. It provides a platform for attendees to air their views and expertise, and gives an event an international presence as tweets, micro-blogs, blogs and other update fan out over the internet. It makes perfect sense for us to complement our international audience with a truly global social media backchannel.
