DHH Literary Agency will host an event in Liverpool allowing aspiring authors to pitch their work direct to its team.
From 10am on 26th August, until 6pm on 4th October, writers are invited to apply by email for a chance to pitch to one of the agents on 7th December in Liverpool.
Interested authors should to submit a one-page synopsis of their novel, and the first 5,000 words to pitchdhh@dhhliteraryagency.com.
The agency will then invite 110 successful applicants to a venue in Liverpool’s city centre, where they will be given 10 minutes to pitch. All chosen authors will be notified by 8th November if they have been successful.
Agency founder David Headley said: “This is the second time we’re taking Pitch DHH on the road, following our hugely successful event in my hometown of York last year. It’s so important to look outside of London for distinctive new voices, as many people can’t afford to spend time and money travelling to us.
“This time, we’re off to Liverpool, 2008’s European Capital of Culture, which has given us amazing writers such as Beryl Bainbridge and Frank Cottrell Boyce, and the city that my colleague Hannah Sheppard fell in love with when she lived there. I can’t wait to hear the incredible stories yet to come out of Liverpool.”
