Paul Khauli, managing director of Levant Group distributors, has died.
Khauli passed away in Beirut on Friday 16th January, following a heart attack, aged 67. His funeral was held in Beirut last week (19th).
Bill Kennedy of Avicenna Partnership, which offers sales and marketing representation for publishers in the Middle East and elsewhere, said news of Khauli's death had left him "with a sense of shock and profound sadness."
"His colleagues in Levant Group together with so many of his friends and acquaintances in the industry wonder how and why such energy, commitment, enthusiasm, professionalism and passion can be taken from us all so prematurely," he commented. "The funeral was held in Beirut on Monday January 19th, was well attended with condolences received from many and varied parts of the Middle East and the industry within which he worked so tirelessly."
Kennedy added: "Paul … you will be sorely missed by all whose lives you touched but, may you forever rest in peace."
Levant has offices in Beirut, London, New York, Paris and Geneva and distributes to over 50 countries, including within the Middle East, Africa, the Americas, Eastern Europe and parts of Asia.
Khauli leaves a wife and two children.
