Jason Arthur, publisher of William Heinemann, Hutchinson and Windmill, said: “I have been very impressed by Laura. She’s a smart publisher with a very good eye and the skills to help lead Windmill to even greater success.
“I very much look forward to working with her and welcoming her to the team.”
Deacon, who started her career as an editor for Collins Education in 2007, said: “I’m delighted to be joining the Windmill team.
“With a stellar list of authors across William Heinemann and Hutchinson, I look forward to introducing a wide readership to exceptional storytelling and engaging non-fiction.”
