D&C still to distribute Reader's Digest titles

<p>Current Reader&#39;s Digest titles will continue to be made available and distributed by David &amp; Charles (D&amp;C) in the UK after Reader&#39;s Digest UK went into administration yesterday (17th February).</p><p>Reader&#39;s Digest backlist and recently published titles are available for trade orders via D&amp;C&#39;s distribution centre at Grantham Book Services. Richard Dodman, D&amp;C sales director and new business director, said: &quot;We own the stock outright, so there&#39;s no doubt that anyone can order the books.&quot; He added: &quot;The position is actually very well controlled.&quot;<br /><br />Dodman explained that where any forthcoming titles may be affected by delays or cancellation due to administration, D&amp;C has updated revised trade publication dates and availability via the Nielsen title datafeed. Such updates will continue on an ongoing basis in the event of further changes.</p><p>Dodman said: &quot;It certainly is a profitable business, in the eyes of a future owner it is a good business . . . Let&#39;s hope this comes to a happy landing.&quot;</p><p>Phillip Sykes, Jeremy Willmont and Bill Beach of Moore Stephens were appointed joint administrators of the company yesterday (17th Feb). A statement from D&amp;C said: &quot;We remain confident in the administrator securing a positive outcome to the future prosperity of the Reader&rsquo;s Digest book publishing division.&quot;</p>
