Daunt Books has unveiled two new websites dedicated to its books and publishing arms designed and built by booksellers.
The platforms aim to give customers a “lovingly curated online experience that recreates a visit to one of our London bookshops,” publisher Laura Macaulay said.
The Daunt Books website features blog recommendations from booksellers and highlights the titles they’re most excited about. There is also information about events, gift selections, bags, subscriptions, and tailored reading lists for travellers. “The website hopes to inspire visitors with new literary discoveries, and offers an extension of the highly personalised Daunt Books service,” Macaulay said.
The Daunt Books Publishing website aims to recreate the enjoyable experience of browsing amongst the tables of a Daunt Books shop, as well as providing information on the imprint’s titles for the trade and press.
Macaulay added: “All our titles are inspired by the Daunt Books shops and the exciting atmosphere of discovery to be found in a good bookshop, and with a growing list, it was time for our own website.”
The website were designed and built by the company’s booksellers, with employees from each Daunt shop contributing, led by Patrick Power and Rosanna Lyttelton from the Marylebone branch. Staff from all six shops will write the website blogs.
Daunt Books titles are now represented by Faber Factory Plus and distributed by GBS.
