New Publishers Association chief executive Richard Mollet is to take up the role on 18th October, following his appointment in June. Mollet succeeds Simon Juden, who left to join Pearson as head of public policy. Mollet is currently the director of Public Affairs at the BPI, the body representing the UK recorded music business.
Mollet said: "I am very excited to be joining the Publishers Association as chief executive, particularly at this fascinating time as publishers continue to adapt to the digital environment. Publishing is a vibrant and innovative sector, and I’m very much looking forward to representing its interests and highlighting its substantial contributions, not just to businesses and the wider economy, but to literacy, education and the UK’s general creative output."
