'Dagger Reads' initiative from CWA

The Crime Writers' Association has launched Dagger Reads, an online literary initiative that showcases and promotes the shortlisted titles for the 2015 Dagger Awards.

Dagger Reads focuses on the books in contention for the CWA Goldsboro Gold, the CWA Ian Fleming Steel and the CWA John Creasey (New Blood) Daggers. It is designed to provide readers, shops and libraries with a comprehensive guide to each book and its author.

The judges will reveal why each book is selected and there will be a plot synopsis and the author's biography, as well as a link to buy each book. Reading group guides will also be available to download.

Every fortnight, Dagger Reads will focus on a different Dagger ahead of the prize ceremony in September. Each shortlisted author and book will be celebrated and discussed, cumulating in an online book club around that Dagger, hosted on the CWA Facebook group. There will also be resources for shops and libraries.

CWA chair Len Tyler said: "Dagger Reads is the place to celebrate the best of the best in crime writing. We love these books and we want other people to have the chance to enjoy them too. Getting together to talk about the books we love has long been a favourite pastime of CWA members. Now our members, writers and crime readers can come together to discuss and debate the merits of those on our shortlists."

The CWA Goldsboro Gold, the CWA Ian Fleming Steel and the CWA John Creasey (New Blood) Daggers will be awarded at a ceremony in at the Malmaison hotel in London on Tuesday 29th September.
