Da Vinci trial: Leigh puts up fight, as Janson-Smith is called

<p>The Da Vinci trial recommenced at the High Court this morning with an embarrassing continuation of the string of retractions by Holy Blood and the Holy Grail author Michael Baigent. But just as it seemed the claimants' case had crumbled, his more feisty co-author Richard Leigh took to the witness box and injected some much needed grit into proceedings. The coming week also promises an extra piquancy for publishers, as it was revealed that former Transworld publishing director Patrick Janson Smith will take the stand.
