Curtis Brown will support Patrick Ness' fundraising for Syria campaign by offering up an agent every two weeks for auction, starting with c.e.o. Jonny Geller.
The highest bidder will win lunch and a reader's report, with all proceeds going to Ness' Save the Children Syrian Refugee Crisis Fund.
Author Ness’ fundraising effort has so far raised more than £670,000, including Gift Aid and pledges yet to be paid. The fund has received contributions from publishers including Hachette and HarperCollins, and numerous writers.
Geller, who represents authors including John le Carré and Tracy Chevalier, said: “We were all moved by how many of our authors, and the industry, had supported Patrick Ness’ brilliant initiative to raise money for Save the Children during this terrible crisis. We wanted to offer something more than just a donation – our time (and some money). Something fun and hopefully useful, and provide access to the whole range of agents here at Curtis Brown and Conville and Walsh up until Christmas. Please support and let’s raise some money!”
The deadline for final bids for the first lunch with Geller is 5p.m. on Wednesday 23rd September. Bids can be made on the auction's facebook page. Curtis Brown will add £1,000 to the winning bid for the donation.
