Curious Fox expands team

Children’s publisher is expanding its team by appointing Helen Freeman to the newly created position of publishing director.
 
Freeman will oversee the Curious Fox fiction list and the Raintree education list and is moving back to the UK from Australia, where she worked as an education publishing consultant on a variety of projects. She previously spent six years as publishing director at Scholastic UK.
 
Curious Fox has also appointed Loraine Taylor as publisher andChris Moody as sales manager.
 
Taylor was previously an independent literary consultant whileMoody joins Curious Fox from Priddy Books.
 
Curious Fox m.d. Miles Stevens-Hoare said: “I think these new appointments reflect our commitment and investment to our list, and send a message to the industry that we mean business. 2014 is going to be a big year for Curious Fox.”

Last month Curious Fox announced a deal to publish new children’s titles based around classic Warner Bros characters such as Batman and Scooby-Doo. The publisher is planning to release 30 books for the five to 12 years age market in the first year, starting in May 2014.
