Cunningham, Walters, Herbert honoured in Queen's Birthday list

<p>Publishers of classics, educational and children&#39;s books and authors of genres as disparate as horror and current affairs were among those to receive honours in the Queen&#39;s Birthday list this year. </p><p>Former chief executive of Hodder Education, Philip Walters, received an MBE while Susan Bradbury, former editor-in-chief of the Foilo Society, and Chicken House Books&#39; Barry Cunningham - the man who discovered J K Rowling - were given OBEs for their services to the publishing industry.</p><p>Moira Arthur, former managing director of Peters Bookselling Services, received an MBE for her work in children&#39;s libraries. </p><p>Among the authors to be honoured were three poets - Simon Armitage, Michael Longley and Wendy Cope, who received CBEs and an OBE respectively - horror writer James Herbert and playwright, author and critic Bonnie Greer, who both received OBEs. <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /> </p>
