Nick Hern Books is publishing a "crowd-sourced" book by West End musical theatre performers Louise Dearman and Mark Evans that offers advice on how to embark on a career as a performer.
In the book, Dearman and Evans – who have starred in West End shows including "Wicked" and "The Book of Mormon" – answer questions submitted to them by fans and members of the public via a specially commissioned website. The people who submitted the questions are named as contributors in the back of the book. The book is fully illustrated by Mark Manley.
Matt Applewhite, managing director of Nick Hern Books, says: “Secrets of Stage Success is Nick Hern Books’ first crowd-sourced book. It marks an exciting new step for us as the UK’s leading theatre publisher – we were eager to let Louise and Mark’s fans tell us the things they wanted to know, and we hope they enjoy the results.”
The book will be published on Thursday 18th June at an r.r.p of £8.99 in paperback and is also available in e-book. A dedicated website, www.secretsofstagesuccess.com, will launch on publication.
Both authors will appear at a public book signing this Saturday (20th June) at The Theatre Café on Shaftesbury Avenue and will perform at the West End LIVE event in Trafalgar Square on Sunday (21st June).
