Cross-industry marketing meet

<p>A group of senior book marketing executives are joining forces to establish a platform for industry-wide initiatives. The Book Marketing Society will invite senior marketers to debate industry issues over lunch five times a year, and will host an annual reception.

The inaugural chair of the society will be Adrian Bourne, m.d. of Orion's Weidenfeld&amp;Nicolson division. Jo Henry, m.d. of Book Marketing Ltd, will be treasurer, and consultant Alastair Giles is secretary. Subjects on the first agenda include the results of Book Marketing Ltd's "Expanding the Market" survey.
