Crime writers fundraise with OxCrimes

Following OxTales (2009) and OxTravels (2011), Profile Books will publish fundraising collection OxCrimes, a volume of crime short stories, with Oxfam in May 2014.

The book will feature an introduction by Ian Rankin and high-profile contributors including Neil Gaiman, Val McDermid,  Ann Cleeves, John Connolly, Anthony Horowitz, Alexander McCall Smith and Peter James.

OxCrimes has been commissioned and edited by Peter Florence, director of the Hay Festival, with Mark Ellingham, associate publisher at Profile Books.

Ellingham said: “It looked like it might be hard to beat the cast list for OxTales and OxTravels but these superb crime novelists have done us proud. We’ve got 23 top writers signed up and we’re looking to make a further £100,000 for Oxfam’s funds.”

Profile and Hay are said to have raised over £250,000 for Oxfam so far through sales of OxTales and OxTravels.
